Demi's Dog House Pawlicies

Minimum Age and Size for Daycare/Boarding/Grooming
Minimum age for dogs coming into our facility starts at 4 months, but may also depend on size. For daycare/boarding purposes, we require a dog to weigh at least 10 pounds.  

​

Spay-Neuter

New dogs already over 6 months of age who would like to attend our daycare for the first time are required to be spayed/neutered first. Puppies younger than 6 months who are already attending our daycare/boarding should generally be spayed or neutered between 6-9 months in order to continue attending. Puppies who are not altered within the time frame may be asked to pause attendance until after their spay/neuter has been completed.

Vaccinations
Dogs must be current on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations in order to attend our daycare, boarding and/or grooming. We encourage pet parents to consult with their veterinarians to determine if any additional vaccinations are appropriate for their individual dogs, depending on age, health, and regular activities. Puppies must complete 3 rounds of DHPP vaccinations in addition to the Bordetella and Rabies vaccine requirements before visiting Demi's.

Flea/Tick Prevention
All dogs should be on a regular and effective flea and tick preventative. If a dog comes into Demi's with fleas and/or ticks, they will be required to have a flea/tick bath by Demi's staff, at the pet owner's expense. If a parent does not consent for us to use a flea/tick shampoo on their dog, they will be required to pick up their pet within an hour of notification.

 

Health and Safety
If a dog is having symptoms of an illness such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, coughing, etc. he or she should NOT be brought to the facility in order to avoid the potential spread of illness. If we discover that a dog has a suspected illness that could be contagious, parents will be contacted to pick up their dog within an hour of notification. For everyone's health and safety, a release by the treating veterinarian may be required before we are able to have the dog return to our facility.


For client and dog safety, we ask that all dogs be properly leashed and restrained when entering and exiting our facility.

Temperament Test/Evaluation
For the safety of dogs and staff, new daycare/boarding dogs must pass an evaluation (temperament test) prior to being accepted into Demi's. The evaluation is a full day process with drop off being between 7-8am on the first day. The cost for the evaluation is $25, PLUS a day of daycare at the pay-by-day rate or use of a package day. Pick up from an evaluation day is generally between 4pm-7pm. We do not offer half day evaluations. The $25 eval fee is due at the time of booking in order to hold the limited evaluation reservation. This can be refunded with at least a 24 hour cancellation notice via text, email or online portal.

We strive to set up every dog for success in our environment, however, passing the initial evaluation does not guarantee a dog's long term success. If a dog develops behavioral issues after the initial evaluation day, we will consult with the pet parent. If behavioral issues continue, escalate or become severe, it may be determined that it is best to discontinue with daycare/boarding for that individual dog.

Note that if an established dog is absent from Demi's daycare/boarding for six or more months, it will be necessary to complete a re-evaluation.

Reservation Policy
Daycare: In order to provide the best daycare experience possible to our canine clients, pet parents and staff, we require reservations for dogs who attend daycare. In order to guarantee a spot in daycare on a particular day or recurring set of days, reservation requests must be made in one of the following ways: 1) online customer portal (preferred method), 2) text using the regular daycare phone number, or 3) email. For verification purposes, the daycare reservation request and acceptance (or declination) must be in writing using one of the above methods (versus verbal communication only). Daycare reservations may be made up to 6 months in advance. Individual days can be reserved or a series of days on a recurring basis (i.e. Tues and Thurs each week) can be requested in advance. Last minute daycare requests will be allowed when spots are available. Feel free to contact us as late as the morning of the day you would like to bring in your pup(s). If a dog does not have a confirmed daycare reservation (online, text, or email confirmation), there is a chance they may be turned away upon arrival, depending on space availability. If a daycare reservation is confirmed but the client does not show as scheduled, daycare will be charged to the client for that day, either by the deduction of a pre-paid package day or separate invoice. In order to avoid being charged when you cannot make it, the reservation should be cancelled online, by text, or email BEFORE we open for business on the day of the reservation.

 
Boarding: Boarding reservations for established clients may be made using 1) online customer portal (preferred), 2) text, or 3) email. Note that all dogs with a boarding reservation will be guaranteed a spot in daycare for the length of their stay. Therefore, once a boarding stay has been booked, daycare does not need to be requested during the same timeframe. Boarding requests are confirmed via email once accepted by DDH. On occasion, we are fully booked and must reject a boarding reservation request. This would also be confirmed via email once declined by DDH.

Although we ask for advanced boarding reservations, we are happy to accommodate last minute requests when we have availability.

​​

Grooming: Grooming services are generally available Monday - Friday, by appointment. At times throughout the year, we may book out 3-4 weeks for full body haircuts/grooms, so we recommend planning ahead. Grooming services can be requested 1) online, 2) by text, or 3) email. Appointment requests will be confirmed (or declined) via email confirmation.

We offer "walk-in" a la carte services (e.g., nail trim, teeth brushing, gland expression, etc.) on most non-holiday weekdays. Walk-ins: Please call or text to confirm staff availability prior to arrival and to provide current proof of vaccines in addition to completing our standard waiver and release.

Drop off Times for Daycare/Boarding and Grooming
Daycare/boarding arrivals are required to be dropped off between 7am-10am on regular weekdays, or between 9am-12pm on weekends and designated holidays. This information is also outlined in reservation email confirmations. Arrivals outside of these windows may not be accepted. Note, we are unable to accept drop offs or pick ups during our naptime closure.

Half day daycare drop offs on weekdays are between 7am-10am for AM reservations, and between 1:30pm-2:30pm for afternoon reservations.  Half day daycare options are not offered on weekends or holidays.

​​

Dogs scheduled for bath or groom appointments are generally asked to be dropped off between 7am-9:30am on regular weekdays.

​

Grooming Appointment, No Shows and Cancellations

We understand that life happens and plans change and we can accommodate some schedule changes if given at least 24 hour notice. However, "no shows" or same day groom cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) will be charged 50% of the regular groom price. This policy is necessary to help cover lost income and administrative time already spent on booking the appointment, collecting vaccine records, etc.​​​

Weekday Nap Time Closure
On regular weekdays, we are closed from 11:30am-1:30pm so the daycare dogs can rest. Drop offs and pick ups are not allowed during this time; this pertains to all customers and the general public. We appreciate your understanding and adherence to this policy.

​

Early Drop-off and Late Pick-up
Early drop offs and late pick ups for Daycare/Boarding/Grooming will be subject to additional charges and must be arranged in advance. Drop offs as early as 6:45am will be subject to a $5 early drop off fee. Pick ups after closing will be subject to a late fee of $15, up to 7:30pm. If dogs are not picked up by 7:30pm, they will be required to spend the night at Demi's and boarding charges will apply.

Package Days
Starting 1/19/2026, daycare packages purchased will expire 60 days from the date of first use. Package days are intended for full day visits. Half days are paid for separately (otherwise a full package day will be deducted from the daycare package). We do not offer boarding or grooming packages.


Daycare packages are non-refundable. On the rare occasion that a refund of unused days is granted, it will be at the sole discretion of the owner of Demi's Dog House. In addition, a $25 administrative fee will apply and be deducted from any refund amount.

​Sleepover Meals​

Meals brought from home should be bagged individually PER MEAL. Please do NOT bring large bags or containers of food as we have limited storage space. If food is not pre-measured out per meal, DDH will charge a $2 per meal preparation fee which will be applied to the boarding invoice.

Payment and Deposit for Services

Payments for goods and services are required at the time of pick up. Clients have the option to securely store a credit card to their account for faster checkout and convenient payment of holiday deposits, etc. We will use the credit card on file unless alternative payment arrangements are made at check out. In the event of an outstanding balance, the invoice will be be subject to a 10% late fee after 5 days.


All holiday boarding reservations will require a $80 deposit due within 3 days of a confirmed boarding reservation. If payment is not made within 3 days, the reservation cannot be guaranteed. Please note, the reservation must be canceled no later that 7 days prior to the start date to avoid forfeiture of the deposit. The payment of a holiday deposit alone does not guarantee a reservation request will be confirmed. If we are unable to accommodate a reservation request, any deposit payment already made will be refunded. 

 

​Damages
If your dog's actions or behavior results in damage to the property, equipment, furnishings, etc., you may be required to reimburse DDH for repairs or replacement of the item(s) damaged.

​

Veterinary Care
As a general rule, if your dog injures another dog which results in one or more veterinary visits, you will be responsible for the applicable vet charges, either directly to the treating vet or by reimbursement to DDH. Payments will be due in full at the time services are rendered or at the time of pick up of your pet from DDH. This policy pertains to emergency and non-emergency vet visits that may be needed as a result of the injury. 

 

If your pet needs to see a veterinarian for a general illness or injury while in our care, you or your emergency contact will be contacted/consulted by a member of our staff to discuss care options. In an emergency situation, if we cannot reach you or your emergency contact, we will move forward in seeking appropriate veterinary care for your pet, either from the vet listed on your account or by a veterinarian in close proximity who is able to see the pet for treatment right away. In some cases, this may be an urgent care or 24/7 emergency veterinarian facility. Associated vet related charges will be the responsibility of the pet's owner.

 

If you request that a member of DDH staff take your dog for a non-emergency vet visit while in our care, a transportation fee of $50 per hour will apply. Associated vet visit charges would be the responsibility of the pet's owner.
