Demi's Dog House Pawlicies

Minimum Age for Daycare/Boarding/Grooming
Minimum age for new dogs coming into our facility starts at 4 months, but also depends on breed and size.  

Puppies attending daycare/boarding should generally be spayed or neutered between 6-9 months. Puppies who are not altered within the time frame described above may be asked to pause daycare/boarding attendance until after their spay/neuter has been completed. Pups over 6 months of age who are attending our daycare for the first time are required to be spayed/neutered before attending daycare/boarding.

Dogs must be current on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations in order to attend daycare, boarding and/or grooming. We encourage pet parents to consult with their veterinarians to determine which additional vaccinations are most appropriate for their individual dogs, depending on age, health, and regular activities. 

Flea/Tick Prevention
All dogs should be on a regular and effective flea and tick preventative. If a dog comes into Demi's with fleas and/or ticks, they will be required to have a flea and tick bath by Demi's staff at the pet owner's expense. If a parent does not consent for Demi's to use a flea/tick shampoo on their dog, they will be required to pick up their pet within an hour of notification.


Health and Safety
If a dog is having symptoms of an illness such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, coughing, etc. he or she should not be brought to the facility in order to avoid the potential spread of illness. If we discover that a dog potentially has a contagious condition, parents will be contacted and will be required to pick up their dog within an hour. Proof of treatment by a vet may be required before having the dog back in our facility.
For safety purposes, all dogs must be properly leashed when entering and exiting our facility. 

Temperament Evaluation
For the safety of dogs and staff, new dogs must pass an evaluation (temperament test) prior to being accepted for regular daycare and/or boarding. There is a $22 evaluation fee in addition to the daycare fee on the dog's first day. Note that if an evaluated dog does not return to Demi's for daycare/boarding within six months, it will be necessary to complete a re-evaluation. We strive to set every dog up for success in our daycare and boarding environment, however, passing the initial evaluation does not always ensure a dog's long term success in our group play environment. If a dog develops behavioral issues later, we will consult with the pet parents. If behavioral issues are severe or continue and/or escalate, it may be determined that it is best to discontinue daycare/boarding.

Reservation Policy
In order to provide the best daycare experience possible to our canine clients, pet parents and staff, we require reservations for dogs who attend daycare. In order to guarantee a spot in daycare for your pup(s) on a particular day or recurring set of days, reservation requests must be made in one of the following ways: 1) online customer portal (preferred method), 2) text using the regular daycare phone number, or 3) email. For verification purposes, the daycare reservation request and acceptance (or declination) must be in writing using one of the above methods (versus verbal communication). Daycare reservations may be made up to 6 months in advance. You can reserve individual days or book a series of days on a recurring basis (i.e. Tues and Thurs each week). Last minute daycare requests will be allowed when spots are available. Feel free to contact us as late as the morning of the day you would like to bring your pup(s). If a dog does not have a confirmed daycare reservation (online, text, or email), there is a chance they may be turned away upon arrival, depending on available space for that day. If you make a daycare reservation for your dog(s) and you do not bring them in as scheduled, you will be charged for that day either by the deduction of a pre-paid package day or separate invoice. In order to avoid being charged when you cannot make it, the reservation should be cancelled online, or by text, or email BEFORE we open for business that day so that we are able to fill the available spot. 
All dogs with a boarding reservation will be guaranteed a spot in daycare for their whole stay. Once a boarding stay has been booked, you do not need to request daycare for the stay as it will be included automatically.

Drop off Times for Daycare and/or Boarding
Dogs coming in for daycare/boarding are required to be dropped off between 7am-10am on regular weekdays, or between 9am-12pm on weekends and designated holidays.
Half day daycare drop offs are either between 7am-10am for mornings, or between 1:30pm-2pm for afternoons.  Half day daycare is not offered on weekends or holidays.

Weekday Nap Time Closure
On regular weekdays, we are closed from 11:30am-1:30pm so the daycare dogs can rest. Drop offs and pick ups are not allowed during this time; this pertains to all customers and the general public. We appreciate your cooperation with this policy.

Early Drop-off and Late Pick-up
Early drop offs and late pick ups for Daycare/Boarding/Grooming will be subject to additional charges and must be arranged in advance of the reservation. Drop offs as early as 6:45am will be subject to a $5 early drop off fee.Pick ups after closing will be subject to a late fee of $10, up to 7:30pm. If dogs are not picked up by 7:30pm, they will be required to spend the night at Demi's and boarding charges will apply. 

Package Days
Unused daycare package days expire 3 months (90 days) from the date of first use. Package days are intended for full day visits. Half days may be paid for separately, if applicable (otherwise a full package day will be deducted from the daycare package). There are no boarding or grooming packages.
Daycare packages are non-refundable. On the rare occasion that a refund of unused days is granted, it will be at the sole discretion of the owner of Demi's Dog House. Package days used will be converted to the full daily daycare price when calculating the refund. In addition, a $25 administrative fee will apply and be deducted from any refund amount.

Sleepover Meals
If a pup parent does not bring meals from home for their pup's sleepover, we have in-house kibble that can purchased for $2.50 per meal. Alternatively, the customer may choose to purchase food from our retail area. Please let us know in advance if your pup has any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Payment and Deposit for Services

Payments for goods and services are due at the time of pick up. Clients have the option to securely store a credit card to their account for faster checkout and convenient payment of deposits and online purchases. We will use the credit card on file unless alternative payment arrangements are made. In the event of an outstanding balance of 7 or more days, the invoice will be be subject to a 10% late fee.
All holiday boarding reservations will require a $80 deposit due within 3 days of a confirmed boarding reservation. If payment is not made, the reservation cannot be guaranteed. Please note, the reservation must be canceled no later that 7 days prior to the start date to avoid forfeiture of the deposit.

If your dog's actions or behavior results in damage to the property, equipment, furnishings, etc., you may be required to reimburse DDH for repairs or replacement the item(s) damaged. Additionally, if your dog does harm to another dog which results in veterinary care, you will be required to reimburse Demi's for the applicable vet charges.

Veterinary Care
In the event that your dog, or a dog who was injured by your dog, needs veterinary care, reimbursement to Demi's for the visit will be due in full before or at the time of pick up. This policy pertains to emergency and non-emergency vet visits. Additionally, a transportation free of $50 per hour will apply for non-emergency vet visits.
